Richie Dale Murphy

RICHIE DALE "MURDOC & POPPY" MURPHY, age 70 of Marbury, passed away on April 16, 2024 at Baptist Medical South Hospital in Montgomery, AL. He was born in Victorville, California on December 23, 1953; the son of the late Thomas Murphy and the late Maude Elliott Murphy.

He is survived by: Wife, Charlotte Murphy; Son, Brian Murphy; Daughter, Jamie Murphy; Daughter, Denae Deason; Daughter, Raven Murphy; Brother, Phillip (Janice) Murphy; 10 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; Ex Spouse and mother of his children, Karen Rice; Ex spouse and mother of his children, Scarlette Burgess (Lois); and a host of nieces and nephew.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Thomas and Maude Murphy; and Brother, Don Murphy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Unity Baptist Church in Marbury, AL with Rev. Robert Bullock and Bro. Dickie McGallaird officiating.

“A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we’re together again.”
